Meet the AVT Reliability BV (formerly Van Geffen Reliability)Team
Without our people, we could not deliver the outstanding service we have become renowned for. The combined knowledge, expertise and dedication of our team members helps to ensure we are and will remain the number one machine reliability company in the Netherlands.
The success of AVT Reliability is based on the continued strive to deliver excellent service and support to our customers. As General Manager my focus is to maintain our high level of support and consistently develop our team and service competencies to a level that exceeds our customer expectations.
Motivated by a lifelong interest in technology and problem-solving. During my 20-year career I’ve gained experience in various roles from noise & vibration test engineer to machinery diagnostics and reliability engineer. As a principal engineer, I continue to fulfil responsibilities and remain actively involved as a vibration and diagnostics specialist in many customer and R&D projects with the pursuit to combine practical problem-solving with advanced, high-level analytics and technology capabilities.
Raymond’s career started in 2007 when he wrote technical manuals and guidelines as a graduate.
In the years that followed, Raymond gained experience as an international field service engineer with a wide range of measurement & inspection techniques in various markets and industries.
In his current combined role as Trouble Shooter on the one hand and Technical Consultant/Service Manager on the other, Raymond supports incoming technical issues, often devising out-of-the-box monitoring solutions.
Nick’s first job after graduation was at AVT Reliability. The small team and diversity of different disciplines continue to ensure that the job is never boring. Flying in a helicopter to a gas production platform or sailing on a huge yacht sounds like a dream but it is all part of the job.
When he is not out working on site Nick also spends time in the office for the development of new measurement techniques or the improvement/optimization of existing measurement techniques. Nick is currently finalising a customised combined solution for measuring and (remote) analysis of torsion and lateral vibration measurements.
In his spare time, he likes to take ice-cold swims in nature, ride a bike in the forest and spend some time with friends and family.
Stan Bastiaans
JR MACHINERY DIAGNOSTICS ENGINEER
Stan started his career at AVT Reliability in 2023, as an intern. During his internship, he continued to investigate the theoretical and practical (im)possibilities of a TMD (Tuned Mass Damper). As a result, several successful proof-of-concept TMDs have been placed in the field.
After Stan obtained his degree in Automotive Engineering at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in late 2023 and stayed on to advance to Structural Engineer. In the future, he will be taking care of your structural dynamic issues.
Mike van Kaathoven
WORKSHOP MECHANIC
Mike has been a valued colleague in the workshop for over 10 years. In recent years, Mike has been working more and more in the field as an assistant on larger alignment jobs or with large volume Condition Monitoring programs, where his passion for technology comes in handy in his role as data collector.
Together with his colleague Frans Kuypers, Mike is responsible for more than 1500 rotors which are balanced on one of our balancing machines on an annual basis.
Linda has been working for AVT Reliability for over 10 years now. She started her role as Head of Operations in 2020 but started her career at AVT as an Office Manager in October 2011.
Over the years Linda gained the business experience to become responsible for the management and planning of our field service and daily routines, she is focused on having a helicopter view of the organisation at all times.
Jurgen van de Westelaken
Sr. MACHINERY DIAGNOSTICS ENGINEER
Since his first steps in AVT Reliability in 2007, Jurgen has developed into a multidisciplinary international field service engineer, with a strong focus on troubleshooting rotating equipment.
Whether it concerns measurements on a propulsion installation on board an LNG Tanker, complex 3D measurements and alignment of a compression train at a refinery or his active involvement in various Condition Monitoring programs, Jurgen is a technician through and through.
Jurgen likes to spend his free time with his family and with friends in his own built man cave.
Han van den Heuvel
RELIABILITY & DIAGNOSTICS ENGINEER
Few can say that they have more than 25 years of experience as a Condition Monitoring Engineer, Han is one of them.
Han has been the face of Condition Monitoring and on-site balancing for many customers since 1994. The simple fact that his very first customers are still loyal customers today says more than enough. There are undeniable advantages for the customer to have their machinery monitored by the same engineer over many years.
Jarno started his career at AVT Reliability as an intern in 2020, he investigated the theoretical and practical (im)possibilities of a TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) on a piping system. With his research, we were able to build on the implementation of a TMD in the field. This created a new technique for solving problems that can be added to the vast list of problem-solving techniques AVT has up his sleeve.
After he graduated from Fontys University of Applied Sciences with a degree in Automotive Engineering, he stayed to become a Service Reliability Engineer. As he has a different degree from some of his collogues, he sometimes has a different point of view which can come in quite handy.
Ivy started working as our Office Assistant in 2016. In 2022 Ivy started part-time in her new role as Office Manager AVT Reliability. Ivy is the first point of contact for our customers but also for our Service Engineers. She is experienced and knows the business processes throughout and is therefore a great support for our Head of Operations.
Frans started his career at AVT Reliability in 1995. With almost 30 years of experience in balancing, he can call himself ‘the’ specialist in the field of workshop balancing in Benelux.
In the early years of his career, Frans gained experience with both shaft and geometric alignments and measurements, subsequently, Frans can regularly be found in the field as an assistant with complex alignment work. The combination of activities sometimes means that Frans is balancing a turbine rotor in the workshop at the beginning of the week, and then aligning it on-site for the customer later in the week. It is precisely this variety of work and the diversity of products that are balanced in the workshop that make work a party every day
Frans prefers to spend his free time on the football field to encourage his children along the line.
Angeline Rotgans
Office Assistant
Angeline has been our part-time Office Assistant since 2018. She takes care of invoicing and the debtors and creditors management.
Niek Jansen
JR RELIABILITY ENGINEER
Niek started his work at AVT Reliability in 2024 as an intern. During his internship, he investigated how motor bearings receive damage from electrical discharges and how to make these discharges measurable. Following his success, the practice was added as a new service to the company service portfolio.
After graduating in Automotive Engineering, Niek will continue his journey with the company and will support various projects and challenges in the future, he is always ready to learn new things.
Marc de Vries
Sr. MACHINERY DIAGNOSTICS ENGINEER
After his seafaring adventures, Marc ended up in the world of vibration measurements/balancing/laser alignment/inspections, etc in 2021
In 2022 he joined the specialist team of AVT Reliability as a field service engineer where he was able to further expand his knowledge and skills. Marc lives in the North of the Netherlands, which has allowed us to further expand our service there.
Nick Rijsemus
STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS ENGINEER
Nick graduated in Automotive Engineering from the HAN University of Applied Sciences, where he developed a strong passion for structural design and FEA simulations.
He began his career at AVT Reliability, aiming to further expand and apply his expertise in these areas. Collaborating closely with Stan, he addresses complex structural dynamics issues and develops suitable solutions for our clients.
Shannen Burg
RELIABILITY SALES MANAGER
After graduation, Shannen decided that she wanted a completely new challenge, that would allow her to learn, and develop for the next few years.
The only thing she knew for sure, is that her main interests lay with Sales & Marketing. After a thorough search, Shannen’s pursuit of a challenge for the long term, freedom, and a job full of variety led her to the vacancy at AVT Reliability set her on her own reliability journey.
In her spare time, Shannen likes to go to the gym and watch football and Formula One. Next to that, spending time with family and friends is very important to her.
